Queen's IRC Collaborates with Deloitte
By Stephanie Noel
This year the IRC is focusing its efforts on raising the bar of service excellence, and diversifying our programming options. One of the ways in which we are accomplishing this strategic objective is creating collaborative partnerships both within the Queen's community and more broadly with external stakeholders.
Accordingly, Queen's IRC will collaboratively partner with Deloitte to offer a unique event that targets HR executives across Canada. On December 1, Queen's University will host a one-day HR Governance Symposium.

Strengthening the IRC with Staff Changes
By Paul Juniper
As the IRC ramps up its 2011-2012 program season, I am pleased to announce several staff changes. Please join me in congratulating Stephanie Noel on her promotion to Business Development Manager, and Karen Brick, as she moves into her new role, Business Development Representative. We welcome Jeffery Thomas to the IRC team in his role as Operations Manager, along with Erin Kearney, our Program Assistant.
Stephanie Noel: Business Development Manager
On July 1, 2011, Stephanie Noel was promoted to Business Development Manager. In her new role, Stephanie will be responsible for leading the IRC's sales and marketing functions. Creating a coherent and structured sales strategy, continuing to develop and strengthen customer relationships, and proactively identifying and working with new customers are all key aspects of Stephanie's new position.
In addition to her MBA, Stephanie will be relying on her strong communication and interpersonal skills to assume a more prominent role in the marketing and sales of the IRC's programming. This new role will take Stephanie across Canada, as she meets with customers and helps our clients to develop their HR and LR staff.

Upcoming IRC Survey: An Inquiry into the State of LR in Canada
By Alison Hill
Earlier this year, the IRC conducted a survey on the state of the human resources (HR) profession in Canada. To complement this successful HR research product, the IRC is launching a second survey, one that explores practitioner views on the labour relations (LR) profession.
The LR survey is currently in the development phase, with launch anticipated for October 2011.
The LR survey will be designed much like the HR survey, including both open- and close-ended questions. Data collected from the survey will be used to describe the LR profession in Canada, and to help inform the IRC about the professional development needs of LR practitioners.
If you are interested in learning more about the LR survey, please contact Alison Hill
